DataBee, from Comcast Technology Solutions, introduces a gen AI powered chatbot to tackle the challenge of finding and validating asset owners
PHILADELPHIA, July 30, 2024 — DataBee™, from Comcast Technology Solutions (CTS), today announced a new generative AI-based chatbot called BeeKeeper AI™, which automatically finds and validates asset owners, closing security and compliance gaps caused by unknown or orphaned assets. Powered by Comcast’s patent-pending entity resolution technology, BeeKeeper AI is now part of DataBee for Security Hygiene, which works on top of the DataBee Hive™ security, risk and compliance data fabric platform to improve security hygiene through automated asset and owner discovery.
BeeKeeper AI uses gen AI to validate asset ownership via automated chat. DataBee for Security Hygiene makes predictions about asset ownership by analyzing who might own the asset and how the asset is engaged. Then BeeKeeper AI automatically reaches out to predicted users to verify asset information and ownership using the organization’s chat client. Unknown or orphaned assets or devices can have significant security vulnerabilities and compliance gaps, so matching up users with devices is critical to closing those gaps and to an organization’s overall security and asset hygiene.
“BeeKeeper AI is an excellent example of the responsible use of generative AI for cybersecurity,” said Scott Miserendino, Vice President of Advanced Cybersecurity Solutions, DataBee. “Because it’s working from a dataset that’s been cleaned and optimized by DataBee within a contained environment, BeeKeeper AI is powered by high quality, complete data and there are proper guardrails around its use and output. We’re looking forward to extending this gen AI chatbot capability to other security challenges over time.”
BeeKeeper AI uses a large language model (LLM) to support chat conversations with potential asset owners, engaging them via Microsoft Teams to ask the question, ‘are you the owner of this device?’. Depending on the answer, BeeKeeper AI can continue its quest—even handling odd-ball responses—until it finds and validates the asset owner. No manual effort is involved in any of this process.
“BeeKeeper AI gives valuable time back to IT, operations, security and compliance teams -- time that would otherwise be spent trying to locate and validate owners of unclaimed devices,” added Nicole Bucala, Vice President and General Manager of DataBee. “Our customers can keep these valuable people resources focused on what matters most and let BeeKeeper AI do the laborious work required to connect the dots between unclaimed assets and their proper owners.”
BeeKeeper AI is available for Private Preview with Microsoft Teams starting the first week of August 2024 and is estimated to be generally available as part of the DataBee Hive suite of offerings in September.
You can learn more about DataBee and all of its products and solutions at the Black Hat USA 2024 conference on August 7 and 8 in booth #4540, or request a meeting with one of our experts during the show.

Comcast Wholesale Announces Upgrade to the HITS Content Distribution Platform
Comcast Wholesale and NCTC Sign Agreement to Offer Upgraded Platform to Members
Denver, CO, June 14, 2016– Comcast Wholesale, a Comcast Platform Services division, today announced an agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) to offer its members the newly upgraded HITS platform. The upgrade transitions the remaining six multiplexes of 64 QAM HITS services to 256 QAM DVB-S2 technology. The upgrade began in late May 2016 and will run through July 2016.
The centralized HITS platform from Comcast Wholesale has served local and independent cable operators with MPEG-2 content distribution since 1996. The upgrade represents the latest in Comcast Wholesale’s continued introduction of technologies designed to help cable operators, content providers and advertisers navigate the digital world simply. Comcast Wholesale offers centralized services and integrated platforms, such as HITS, VOD content distribution, or its new international voice termination services, that utilize Comcast’s infrastructure and scale to provide cost savings and innovations to its customers.
Vice President of Comcast Wholesale, Leslie Russell notes, “We are excited to offer NCTC members a cost-effective solution that supports the majority of consumer premise equipment (CPE) in the field. The upgrade allows cable operators to maximize their existing investments while growing their service offerings to remain competitive.”
“We are pleased that Comcast Wholesale has continued to support HITS for the NCTC members and has continued to make improvements for bandwidth efficiency,” adds Rich Fickle, NCTC president & CEO.
The new 256 DVB-S2 technology reduces the bandwidth and equipment required for cable operators to provide SD and HD channels to their subscribers. The reclaimed bandwidth and equipment can be used to offer additional advanced services such as Video on Demand (VOD) or DOCSIS 3.1.

Comcast Wholesale Introduces New International IP Voice Termination Services
Denver, CO, January 14, 2016 – Comcast Wholesale, a leading provider of IP voice and data, broadcast and digital content distribution, recently added international IP voice termination to its portfolio of services for multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs), ILECs, CLECs and over-the-top (OTT) voice carriers. The new service gives operators the ability to take advantage of Comcast’s extensive network and scale to lower the costs of international calls and expand their footprint globally.
This service is the latest in Comcast Wholesale’s expanding solution set for MVPDs and voice providers. Comcast Wholesale began serving the industry with wholesale voice termination in 2012 and has since grown to more than 2.5 billion minutes of voice traffic per month for CLECs, ILECs, VoIP providers, international carriers and several of the largest MVPDs in North America.

Comcast AdDelivery™ Launches a New Integrated Solution for Managing Television Viewership Promotions
Denver, CO, July 8, 2015 – Comcast AdDelivery, a Comcast Wholesale™ service, today announced an integrated promotional content management solution for cross-channel spots used by cable television networks and other content owners. The integrated solution provides a single platform for cable operators and multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs) to manage promotional content and national, regional or local media placements purchased by the content owner.
The integration of promotional spot delivery into Comcast AdDelivery’s platform features a comprehensive quality control solution that supports a wide variety of video and audio formats. Promotional content can be transcoded into the exact required receiver format, saving extra steps in the content management workflow.
The new promo workflow also integrates with Comcast AdDelivery’s ad management solutions. This results in unified delivery of “tune-in” TV spots and other promotional content into the traffic management systems used by TV networks, individual broadcast TV stations and cable operators. It allows content owners to direct and monitor the placement of cross-channel marketing materials that will be secured through purchasing ad avails on other TV networks or broadcast and cable outlets. The workflow also supports locally inserted promotional spots while using a single, automated and cloud-based workflow.
The workflow can be used to upload, store and track cross-channel spots and other promotional content that will be downloaded for tagging with local information, such as channel numbers or affiliate/distributors branding, and inserted onto a local ad avail. The fully-automated solution shortens the timeframe required for distributing viewership promotions from days to hours.
“Comcast Wholesale is committed to bringing simplified solutions to the distribution ecosystem that revolutionize and drive efficiency into an extremely complex marketplace,” said Todd Porch, Vice President Comcast Wholesale. “With cross-channel promotion becoming increasingly important for driving viewership, these enhancements serve as yet another example of how our innovation is keeping our customers at the forefront of the market.”
Capable of delivering tens of thousands of HD and SD ads per day, with orders often sent within less than two hours using Comcast’s 100G fiber backbone, Comcast AdDelivery currently provides ad distribution services for over 10,000 national, regional and local advertisers. Its footprint encompasses the vast majority of all U.S. broadcast and cable television channels as well as local broadcast television stations, local cable ad sales operations and other MVPDs, local radio stations and Web-based video content providers.
About Comcast AdDelivery
