NBCUniversal’s Seeso Powered by thePlatform

SEATTLE, WA – January 28, 2016 – thePlatform, the leading white-label video publishing company and part of Comcast Wholesale, today announced that it will partner with NBCUniversal’s Seeso, a new online streaming comedy channel from NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises. The subscription service debuted earlier this month.

Announced in 2015, Seeso will be a first-of-its-kind offering from NBCUniversal, providing comedy fans a premium, ad-free subscription service for $3.99 per month, across online streaming platforms, connected devices and other distribution partners. Seeso will feature exclusive, original series and stand-up from Dan Harmon, Upright Citizens Brigade, Cameron Esposito, Wyatt Cenac, and other comic illuminati, plus curated content including NBC Late Night Shows, “Monty Python’s Flying Circus,” “The Kids in the Hall,” the U.S. and U.K. versions of “The Office,” and more.

Specifically, Seeso will use thePlatform’s cloud-based mpx video publishing system to deliver on-demand and live streaming video services and commerce, providing centralized video uploads, easy workflow management, metadata management, subscriber management, transactions, viewing rights enforcement, and automated publishing across devices and video players. In addition, thePlatform worked with long-time technology partner Accedo, which created engaging user interfaces, and will provide customer care and support for the new online subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service.
